   Particle Track Settings

The Settings dialog controls the display and appearance of the tracks.

Display Tracks
The button must be checked for tracks to be shown.

Particle Type
The user may chose to display the tracks of All Particles, or any combination of Neutrons, Photons, and Electrons.

Style
Tracks may be shown as connected lines, dots of the specified radius (in pixels) at interaction sites, or not shown. The latter option is sometimes useful when using Event Markers.

Show Toolbar
The Particle Track Toolbar is visible if checked.

Tracks in Memory
When checked, the particle track data is held in Sabrina's memory. When unchecked, Sabrina reads through the track file each time a picture is made. Track pruning, branch filtering, and writing ptrac files requires the in Memory mode. The setting is saved in sabrina.ini initialization file and thus retained between Sabrina sessions.

Step Through Histories
In the step mode, Sabrina shows a message dialog reporting the number of the history just displayed. Selecting Yes in the dialog shows the next history. Selecting No terminates the displaying.

Linux Difference: The Linux version uses the input area rather than the Question popup. After each track is plotted, Sabrina waits for a typed response. Anything other than Q or q (including just a <CR>) will plot the next track; Q will terminate the track plotting.

Only a single history is shown at a time (if Sabrina is taking care of backing store). The tracks are not written to the backing store bitmap and will disappear if the graphics window is obscured or otherwise damaged.

When Stepping through pruned tracks, occasionally multiple histories, some of which may be incomplete, will appear.

Use Geometry for Plot
If checked, Dots and Event markers are hidden by opaque cells in front of them.

Time Track Plotting
If checked, the time required to plot (when plotting tracks without geometry) is reported.

Use Frame
If checked, the track extents are used in determining scaling of line drawings.

Clip
Tracks are Clipped to the Spatial Window when the 5th box is checked.

Closeness
The value prevents closely spaced track segments from being plotted. Points Closer than a distance X (in user units) to a starting point for a segment are ignored when plotting a track; the length of each segment is thus at least X . All points are used when X <0 (the default condition).

Resolution
For each straight line track segment between 2 events, the segment is broken up into pieces of length User. The length and number are adjusted, if necessary, so that the number is between Min and Max. A subsegment is not shown if either end is hidden. The defaults are Min =30, Max =80, and User =0.1.

Apply
Causes the changes to take effect and dismisses the dialog.

Cancel
Dismisses the dialog and makes no changes.
