Particle track segments can be colored according to their Energy, Weight, Time, Particle Type, Particle Type, or Number of Interactions.
The colors are assigned from a list of discrete values or by a Continuous Coloring scheme.
When a Color By choice is made, one or two list boxes appear in which to enter the colors and quantity boundaries. The label above the color box shows the required number of colors. The colors must be the names of defined Sabrina primary colors.
The Nothing Choice plots all tracks in a single color.
For coloring by Particle Type, 3 colors must be supplied. For these two cases, only the color box is shown.
For Coloring by Energy, Weight, Time, or Interactions, colors are assigned to discrete ranges of the quantity specified in the boundaries box. The boundaries must be monotonically increasing. In the default color scheme shown in the Figure, track segments with energies between 0 and 0.5 MeV are Red, those between 0.5 and 1 MeV are Green, 1-2 Purple, 2-4 Blue, 4-8 Magenta, and 9-20 Yellow. The number of colors supplied must be (at least) equal to the number of boundaries - 1.
For Continuous
Coloring by
Energy,
Weight, or
Time,
two edit fields appear at the right in which to enter the
Minimum and
Maximum
values of the respective quantity.
Track segments with a value equal to or less than the
Minimum are blue;
those with a value equal to or greater than the
Maximum are red.
Between those values, the color advances from blue to cyan to
green to yellow to red according to the relative distance of
the value from the limits.
If Logarithmic
Scaling is checked,
the distance is computed from the logarithms of the limits
and value (in this case, one enters the actual limits,
not their logarithms, in the
Minimum and
Maximum fields).
Continuous coloring is not available on displays with 8 color planes
(256 colors) or less; the dialog does not check if this is the case. A color bar giving the coding values can be added with the
LEGEND command
or with the Track Legend dialog.
