Zooming

The initial scaling of the 2D cut windows is 1 pixel per centimeter, corresponding to a zoom factor of 100%. The Zoom (Current N%) item in the Graphics menu show the current factor. The size of the image in the 2D cut windows may be changed in several ways. Whether a zoom operation affects all 3 cut windows or only the active cut window depends on whether the Lock 2D Zoom item in the Graphics menu is checked. When checked, the zoom states of all 3 windows are locked and change together. When unchecked, zooming one window does not affect the others.

The Increase Zoom and Decrease Zoom buttons on the toolbar multiply or divide the zoom factor by 1.5, respectively.

The Graphics menu contains two submenus, one (2D Zoom) for setting the zoom factor to an absolute value between 10% and 1000% and the other (2D Zoom Relative) for increasing or decreasing the factor by some value. The 2D Zoom submenu also contains a Geometry item that adjusts the zoom factor so that the full extent of the geometry is visible in the cut window.

An interactive zoom is initiated by clicking the left mouse button in a 2D window with the shift key held down. Moving the cursor with both the left button and shift down drags out a rectangle outlining a region to be enlarged.

The Zoom submenu of the 2D context menu contains a Geometry item and the Zoom Relative items. The former item scales the plots to the size of the 3D scale box. The Last Zoom item returns the scaling to its state before the latest zoom operation. If a surface, body, or cell is picked, items to zoom the active cut or all 3 cuts to the selected object are enabled. The Cell submenu of the 3D context menu contains an item to zoom all cuts to the selected cell or body.
