Viewing Cell Descriptions

The Description property page of the Cell property sheet lists three descriptions for each cell. The Original Cell Description is the description exactly as read from an input file without complement operators expanded or bodies converted to surfaces. It cannot be changed. The sense convention for bodies follows the MCNP macrobody syntax where a negative sense means within the body. This convention is used even if the body-based description originates from a Sabrina/MORSE/ACCEPT CELL command or a Sabrina QCELL command where the opposite convention is used. The body-based descriptions are rearranged to place bodies with inside sense before bodies with outside sense.

The others are the description with bodies and complements expanded and redundant parentheses removed and the optional alternate description.

Double clicking on a surface in a description list highlights the surface in the 2D windows and shows the surface type above the description list. If the user holds down the control key, previously selected surfaces remain highlighted. Otherwise, only one surface at a time is highlighted. This feature is useful when trying to understand a cell description. Similar double click highlighting is available on the Cell Polygonalization property page that lists the description of each polygonalized part of a cell. The Figures below show an example.
