Surface Plotting
The Draw in 2D item in Options submenu of the Surface menu and a check box on the Surface Style property page control whether or not surfaces are drawn in the 2D windows. Surfaces that are being interactively created or modified are always shown. All surfaces are drawn as the 2D cut location is being scrolled or the cut depth is being changed interactively.
The current surface for which the Surface dialog displays properties is highlighted in the 2D windows.
Surface colors are assigned by cycling through a list of 16 colors. These colors can be viewed and modified on the Cycle Colors property page. If Single Color is checked on the Surface Style property page, all surfaces are drawn in the same color that is set with the All Surfaces choice on the Component Colors property page. Whether to label surfaces with their ID number is controlled on the Surface Style property page. The label font and color can be chosen from that property page; the label color can also be selected on the Component Colors property page.
Surfaces are not shown in the 3D display other than where they bound a cell or body. We will implement optional 3D display of surfaces in future versions if there is user demand.
