Moritz Geometry Editor

Ray Tracing Background Picture

Moritz can read and display bitmaps to be used as background in the ray tracing windows. The Clear button— —displays the bitmap in the current ray tracing window.

The selection and position of the background bitmap picture is controlled on the Ray Trace Background Picture property page. The page contains buttons for choosing a bitmap, removing an existing bitmap, and 5 position options. This figure background picture link shows 4 of these options. The bitmap can be Centered (lower right panel). If the bitmap is smaller than the window, the remaining space is filled with the background color. If the bitmap is larger, its edges are clipped. A Tiled bitmap is drawn multiple times, as necessary, to fill the window (lower left panel). When Clipped to Window, the upper left corner of the bitmap is positioned at the upper left corner (upper left panel) of the ray tracing window. Any space not occupied by the bitmap is filled with background color. Any portion of the bitmap extending beyond the right and bottom edges of the window is clipped. When Stretch to Window is in effect, the bitmap is stretched or shrunk to the window size (upper right panel).
