Surface Offsets
Surfaces can be offset to an existing reference surface by specifying the distance to the other surface. The offset feature facilitates entering dimensional information from a plan. For spheres and cylinders, one can specify whether the offset applies to the center, near side, or far side. The reference surface can be defined by entering its number, using the last surface created, or selecting it with the mouse. If the new surface is first positioned interactively, the program will take care of the sign of the offset. The types of surfaces between which offsets can be applied is currently limited to planes, spheres, and cylinders; more will be added.
