Checkpoint Files
Checkpoint files are an expanded version of Sabrina input files. In addition to the geometry, they contain commands specifying a number of Moritz settings. Among the latter are the size and position of the 2D cut windows, their scaling (zoom factor), scroll positions, background bitmaps, and information about the state of the 3D window. The checkpoint files can be used to save and restore the editor state during creation of a model. They are also useful for presentations. Selections on the Options Property Page control the classes of information that are written to the file.
Checkpoint files are assumed to have a suffix of .sab. Some commands are designed for checkpoint files that capture the entire state of the program. These commands are meant more for machine writing and reading than user input. They are 2D, 3D, MO, and some portions of other commands.
Reading and writing of the files is controlled by items in the File menu and the Openand Save
buttons on the toolbar.
Timed Backups. Moritz can write checkpoint files at a specified interval. This feature is useful for ensuring one’s work is saved periodically during creation of a model. Up to 10 files are used. The oldest file is overwritten when each backup checkpoint is created. The files are name MoritzBackupN.sab where N is a single digit. The files’ Date Modified (in Windows Explorer) must be checked to determine the most recent backup. The timed backup feature is enabled on the Checkpoint property page. The page contains a button for selecting the directory to which the backups are written. It may be convenient to use a dedicated backup directory.
